The Olympus XA1, introduced in 1982, was a fixed-focus point-and-shoot and the simplest of the clamshell design, The Olympus XA Capsule Camera series, designed by Yoshihisa Maitani of Olympus Optical Co Ltd., was one of the smallest rangefinder cameras ever made.
