Description

The National Sprinty 35mm (often seen as National 35 Sprinty BC or National-35) is a vintage 35 mm viewfinder film camera made in India by National Instruments Ltd. of Calcutta (Kolkata) starting around the late 1970s and into the 1980s. It was produced after the company bought the design and tooling of the German Regula Sprinty BC camera from King KG, making it one of the first locally manufactured still cameras in India and a curious piece of Indian photographic history. The camera itself is a simple, basic 35 mm point-and-shoot style with a fixed 45 mm lens and manual film advance — typical of consumer cameras of that era — and mainly valued today by collectors and film-photography enthusiasts interested in early Indian camera manufacturing.
